Essentially,
Mediterranean cuisine is the food of the countries surrounding the Mediterranean
Sea. Buts its much more than geography that go into this food. Although different countries have different delicacies,
ingredients are basically the same. Their main objective is to keep their body
cool, as it is a very hot region.
One of their
basic constituents is curd, as drinking milk is not possible as it curdles due
to the warmth. Specialties like Tzatziki, which is Greek, is a cucumber yoghurt
dip. Labaneh is strained yoghurt.
Another crucial ingredient is Chickpea, which is
used in everything from hummus to chickpea soup.
It is a very healthy cuisine, as it low in alcohol
content and meat content but very high high in vegetables, nuts and fruits.
